YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

With Kikwetu Youth the children are encouraged to be active, committed and engaged in not only sports, but also other social and community activities and life. With serious training, the kids are supported to focus, believe in themselves, grow in confidence and develop team-spirit. This is changing them and teaches them how to handle each other and those who are joining them.

As the teams are now being invited to other parts of Nairobi for tournaments, the children are being exposed to different social layers of society, ethnic communities and are encouraged to pursue greater goals In life.

EDUCATION, SHOOL FEES & BOOKS

The majority of the children of Kikwetu Youth are in school. Kikwetu Youth is supporting some of the children who are orphaned by paying for their education by the help of our partners. Furthermore, Kikwetu Youth is trying to help other children and families with contributions to school fees and books.

MORE THAN FOOTBALL..

COUNSELING & MOTIVATION

Regularly Kikwetu Youth offers counseling for the kids as addressing the challenges and problems the youth is facing in life where society does not provide the necessary support needed. Furthermore Kikwetu hosts the ‘Youth Motivation Day’ an annual event for all youth and their parents.

GIRLS

There is an increasing interest from the girls to play football. The team is still very small but growing. Many girls have overwhelming duties at home besides their homework and are not always allowed to play. Janet Khisa is the girl’s coach who besides football also counsels the girls and  organizes the support of clothes, medical check-ups and sanitary pads.

YOUTH BUSINESS INITIATIVES - URBAN AGRICULTURE

Kikwetu Youth plants vegetables and crops on a piece of land in Kangemi. Every Saturday morning the kids can come and learn about farming and agriculture. The proceeds of the sales of harvest goes to the organization. Some of the food is donated to the children  in need. Seven of the older youth who have finished school are taking care of the land and the business. Since 2012 Kikwetu Youth included a chicken rearing project.
